Bluetooth Proximity Marketing

Using Bluetooth technology, you can send a variety of digital content to a user’s mobile phone. Known as proximity marketing, consumers can choose to download the content direct to their mobile device when they are within range of the Bluetooth signal. It’s just like receiving a SMS. All that is required is for users to have Bluetooth enabled on the mobile phone.

In order to send Bluetooth messages, a transmitter is installed at your location, commonly setup in shops, near billboards, at product displays shows as expos and exhibitions and at festivals and shows. Bluetooth devices typically have a range of around 40 metres (depending on local infrastructure nearby). As you can imagine, that can cover a lot of potential customers.

Perhaps best of all, it’s free for the user to receive content via Bluetooth. This means no unexpected charges.

Bluetooth proximity marketing offers one-way communication. Users can receive content, but cannot send back to the device. A variety of content can be sent via Bluetooth including:

  • Still images – jpeg, PDF and maps
  • Quick Response (QR) Code/2D Code – scan it to reveal content (Eg. Voucher)
  • Sound Files – mp3, .WAV
  • Video Files – mp4. 3gp
  • Link to external website
  • Business Cards
  • Calender entries (to remind recipients of a promotion or event)

Bluetooth marketing is truly a unique and innovative way to engage and interact with potential customers. To find out more about our Bluetooth marketing services, just contact us today.
